Why not just use the "hidden file" attribute?

Right click on it, hit properties.

Should be a checkmark: "hidden"

Also, set folder options to "do not show hidden files"

When you want your file, change to "show hidden files and folders" and go to it. After youre done, change the setting back. Just make sure to clear the "recent" folder as well

In windoes xp through 8, you can find the setting by opening a folder and clicking tools > options
