we have a lot of leftards here in michigan, but we still passed that action

2019-12-01 20:48:27 UTC

@SuperHeroDeluxe if i assume correct, they will continue to be "searching for work"

2019-12-01 20:48:53 UTC

yeah, i hate that part

2019-12-01 20:49:04 UTC

so nothing will change

2019-12-01 20:49:07 UTC

if they can prove they're looking, they can stay on it

2019-12-01 20:49:22 UTC

some of them aren't that motivated

2019-12-01 20:49:28 UTC

it'll chip down the welfare a bit

2019-12-01 20:49:49 UTC

@Brue that's still better than just letting them sit at home and collect

2019-12-01 20:50:32 UTC

i'm not a defeatist with things like this, a move in the right direction is better than nothing

2019-12-01 20:50:40 UTC

@Benjamin Henry i agree, but i asked about cutting welfare entirely, i dont see that as getting passed at all, ever

2019-12-01 20:51:23 UTC

if one state would do it and showed really positive results, that could be an awesome thing

2019-12-01 20:51:25 UTC

That's why I suggested the promotion of personal charity

2019-12-01 20:51:53 UTC

You're far more likely to make a legitimate effort if you actually know who gave you the money

2019-12-01 20:52:39 UTC

im not sure what yo're pointing out @Brue

2019-12-01 20:52:44 UTC

@SuperHeroDeluxe hold on one state has not shown any results yet

2019-12-01 20:53:36 UTC

if a state did that, and could point at improvements, other legislatures might join in

2019-12-01 20:53:41 UTC

@Benjamin Henry do you have a better way to do this than earlier?

2019-12-01 20:53:54 UTC

@SuperHeroDeluxe of course i agree

2019-12-01 20:54:04 UTC

i don't have high hopes for it

2019-12-01 20:54:37 UTC

i still dont see any results though, and i doubt even if it did eliminate people on welfare, those people will vote to get it back in the following years

2019-12-01 20:54:43 UTC

that we have data for

2019-12-01 20:54:56 UTC

of past programs to get rid of welfare and then a reaction to put it back

2019-12-01 20:55:33 UTC

not really data, more like individual cases in the past

2019-12-01 20:57:27 UTC

i believe it is possible to do this sort of thing and not slide back as long as we make sure there is legislation to interfere with sliding back

2019-12-01 20:58:01 UTC

i was born and raised in california, i am pretty sure it would be impossible to accomplish there, i'll give ya that

2019-12-01 20:58:54 UTC

okay so atleast in california, if we cannot get rid of it, or lessen it, can we atleast give people the ability to choose where to spend it and not government mandate only certain items

2019-12-01 21:00:27 UTC

spit it out blade

2019-12-01 21:02:10 UTC

i have hopes we can accomplish these things because there's been a lot of "thatll never happen" good things going on the last 3 years

2019-12-01 21:02:22 UTC
2019-12-01 21:02:22 UTC

like gun sanctuaries

2019-12-01 21:02:52 UTC

10 years ago i would never have thought states would put into law to not cooperate with federal law

2019-12-01 21:03:21 UTC

@SuperHeroDeluxe would be easier with increased crime punishments

2019-12-01 21:04:30 UTC

i don't think far future punishments stop people who are using crack

2019-12-01 21:05:34 UTC

@SuperHeroDeluxe it will remove them from the system and enable the passing of legislation you want to be approved

2019-12-01 21:06:43 UTC

i think that prisons for violent offenders is mostly useful for giving those people a time-out until their testosterone levels lower. keep them locked up until their mid-30s and they slow down a lot with the impulsive stuff

2019-12-01 21:07:55 UTC

@SuperHeroDeluxe and then they get out in their mid 30s and have children who have similar impluse control problems at a young age and perpetuate the cycle

2019-12-01 21:09:08 UTC

we could go on all day with the possible "what about"'s

2019-12-01 21:09:10 UTC

and then they are hurt by society and will vote (atleast in florida now) for democrat liberal redistribution

2019-12-01 21:09:59 UTC

get them out of society, keep them out, fix the problem with the legislative process and ease the people in the cycle off of it by passing your legislation

2019-12-01 21:10:36 UTC

@ArawnBlade speak my dude, i keep seeing ya type, we are nice i swear

2019-12-01 21:10:54 UTC

i prefer less legislation, i'd like to see more removed
