@wotmaniac that is not trolling, the start of forcing people to choose what foods they eat leaves open the ability to force them to work, to do other things, a slippery slop we do not want do go down on.

for everyone else reading this, understand ideally we would like to have no welfare or any redistribution, but given that it is going on, it is not okay to force individuals to do what the govt approves them to do, they should still have the freedom to choose

cutting the programs and people will rise up to deal with it

look at what happened when the Meals On Wheels program had some cuts, it actually became better off after people realized meals on wheels could use some help

@SuperHeroDeluxe who will give you the votes to cut welfare? i dont see the boomers and elderly giving up on theirs, i also do not see disabled people giving up theirs or voting for you. even if you did every single one of those people would go out and vote the next election to reverse it

in michigan, in january, people have to work to keep benefits unless they're actually disabled to the point that they can't

I think you could probably put a chart of social program spending up against a chart of suicide rates and let the conversation work itself out 🤷‍♂️

@SuperHeroDeluxe there are many individuals which go around and end up just applying to different places in order to keep their welfare, it is easier and less time consuming, is michigan having a policy to stop those?

we have a lot of leftards here in michigan, but we still passed that action
