people who are selling socialism usually appeal to people's greed. once people get the idea that socialism can take the wealth away from others for their own use, it sticks.
a large portion of the US population is in favor of socialism because that's (in large part) their understanding of it.
socialism = any sort of wealth distribution to them
Nuclear power is not silver bullet solution. It is just a sensible thing to have along all other power sources.
