Insurance companies aren't the evil that they're made out to be.

It's in their interest to keep the medical people competing to deliver the best for the lowest costs

Sure, they may want to deny claims, but in the end they have to out compete other insurance companies so the worst companies go out of business if they don't do better

Except that insurance companies suffer the same issue ISPs do. They're region locked oligopolies, and because of that the small companies can't compete and the big ones don't have to actually care about the customer anymore

I feel like the big problem with Insurance was it comes from your employer, so most of them just built to work with that setup.

still, the way i see it the problems are with the subversion of a free market.

i'm quite sure the reason why employers even started giveing the "benifits" is because the government had put some ristriction on how much they could pay, so they just found a way around that with insurance and retirement packages.

Now they offer benefits because they can get it for pennies on the dollar and use it's prospective value as a replacement for actually wages. Government jobs do this too.

yup, more government messing with something, the taxes on wages really pushes them to go for the non-taxed options over just paying people a better wage.
