There's a 5 cent tax on Soda in my state.

2020-01-26 00:41:50 UTC

I've written up a thing on healthcare comparisons before

2020-01-26 00:41:58 UTC

and basically the U.S. has a way higher survival rate than most of europe

2020-01-26 00:41:59 UTC

first you get some boots and some boot straps @The Electric Lizard

2020-01-26 00:42:01 UTC

And people have the gall to say it's not a tax, it's a "deposit".

2020-01-26 00:42:10 UTC

the UK has like a 45% higher death rate in hospitals than the U.S.

2020-01-26 00:42:15 UTC

their healthcare system is basically garbage

2020-01-26 00:42:19 UTC

copying it would be silly

2020-01-26 00:42:22 UTC

then you know. you got a problem with google and your poor?

2020-01-26 00:42:22 UTC

It's free

2020-01-26 00:42:25 UTC

make your own google

2020-01-26 00:42:27 UTC

boom.

2020-01-26 00:42:27 UTC

it may sound nice on paper to have a UBI, but it's terrible

2020-01-26 00:42:37 UTC

nothing is free as you have to pay for it in taxes xD

2020-01-26 00:42:39 UTC

UBI is a brilliant policy

2020-01-26 00:42:42 UTC

Also, isn't the only reason that those countries can have socialized healthcare because we're bankrolling their militaries?

2020-01-26 00:42:49 UTC

With increasing automation unemployment will increase

2020-01-26 00:42:56 UTC

GUYS GUYS

2020-01-26 00:42:58 UTC

its not UBI

2020-01-26 00:43:01 UTC

We need to make sure that those people aren't stuck in poverty

2020-01-26 00:43:02 UTC

its the Freedom Dividend

2020-01-26 00:43:06 UTC

<:smugon:512048583806025739>

2020-01-26 00:43:12 UTC

Well that makes it sound better

2020-01-26 00:43:15 UTC

Automation replacing people wouldn't be a problem if the minimum wage wasn't so damn high.

2020-01-26 00:43:15 UTC

UBI basically won't work as you can only make money by taxing the people, and you can't tax people more money than they have. You can't give everyone 12,000 a year without taxing them 12,000 a year

2020-01-26 00:43:24 UTC

Put the word Freedom on it and it makes it sound more appealing

2020-01-26 00:43:34 UTC

Automation is also overrated as problem as it is only set to replace a few percents of the economy

2020-01-26 00:43:51 UTC

Unless the phrase is "America bring Freedom to Iraq".
I'm sorry I couldn't resist.

2020-01-26 00:43:51 UTC

Like 4% replacement of workers is not really enough to justify giving the other 96% 12,000 dollars

2020-01-26 00:44:00 UTC

you won't make that much money via taxing automated industries

2020-01-26 00:44:03 UTC

it's just not there

2020-01-26 00:44:08 UTC

The point is that it should replace more

2020-01-26 00:44:21 UTC

12,000 dollars a person is just not pluasible

2020-01-26 00:44:24 UTC

Automation can take the burden off of the American Workers

2020-01-26 00:44:43 UTC

And in order to stop mass unemployment either we can use UBI

2020-01-26 00:44:45 UTC

That's like 3 trillion dollars, which results in like, in comparison to our existing 4 trillion dollar budget, a 75% increase

2020-01-26 00:44:50 UTC

mass employment

2020-01-26 00:44:52 UTC

Wat

2020-01-26 00:45:08 UTC

In most cases the State will just be giving back some of the money they have taxed

2020-01-26 00:45:30 UTC

What if they stopped dumping most of our tax dollars into corporate subsidies
