Unless the coalition collapses in Italy again
Maybe
Finland and Sweden could when their next election comes
The AFD has been doing better too
So Germany could end up leaving eventually
Though I think the left wing parties are more likely to try and cobble any sort of coalition rather than let Salvani have a chance to win
I don't think they will
Unless something major happens i think Salvini will become the next PM of Italy
Just looking at the Finnish and Swedish polling results and party alignments and I'm not sure about them leaving. The only Finnish party that is anti-EU is Finns Party and although they're polling highest they're only on about 23%. The Sweden Democrats are in a similar position of being the only anti-EU party on 29%.
They are doing better then they have been before
There has been a clear rise in the popularity of euro-sceptic parties
Mainly in France and Italy but there has been an increase in popularity in Germany and the Nordic Nations
The Swedish Democrats are doing pretty well at 30%
Yes, hopefully they'll keep climbing but I don't think the political systems there make single party majorities likely, I suspect Italy and Portugal are most likely to be next to go as you said
Vox in Spain are going to be an interesting case
Yeah, they seem very strong and if the centre collapses enough there might be a gulf between left and right to stop them creating a 'centrist' coalition just to keep them out
>Vox in Spain are going to be an interesting case
Especially if the ECJ force them to exonerate the leader of the Catalan separatists
I also mean in terms of their rise in popularity
They were barely even a thing in the previous elections in Spain and then boosted to 10% in the 2019 elections
Going from nearly nothing to 10% is a very strong increase
I've not kept as close an eye on Spanish politics, that's a pretty good rise, they're a fairly new party aren't they? Or have they been there and not getting anything for ages then grown massively?
According to the wiki they were founded in 2013
The party participated in the 2015 and the 2016 elections, but did not do well, scoring 0.23% and 0.20% of votes respectively.
The party obtained 10.26% of votes in the April 2019 general election, electing 24 Deputies and entering the Congress of Deputies for the first time in its history
That's a huge jump! Hopefully they can keep it up until after their next elections. Spanish politics have been pretty left wing across the board since they got rid of Franco haven't they?
I think so
They do seem pretty radical though compared to others
the focus of their message shifted towards stances compatible with European right-wing populism,[48] endorsing anti-Islam as well as criticism of multiculturalism and criticizing immigration from Muslim countries
Vox is considered antifeminist,[56] and wants to repeal the gender violence law,
Some of this could just be biased articles but they do still seem more radical then some of the other parties
Vox has openly called for the deportation of tens of thousands of Muslims from Spain.[59] In 2019, the party's leader demanded a Reconquista or reconquest of Spain,[60] explicitly referencing a new expulsion of Muslim immigrants from the country.[61]
Wiki labels them as right-wing to far-right, but I think you get far-right or far-left if you're Eurosceptic on there
I know the Wiki can be biased especially when it comes to labelling parties as 'Far Right'
It will be interesting to see how they do in the next election
Same EU group as Tories, Sweden Democrats and Polish Law and Justice Party so they can't be that far right
If they make another major jump then they could end up becoming a major party in Spain
Still 3 years until the next election in Spain though
They're the 3rd largest in their Congress currently, but nowhere in the Senate
Someone needs to create a website that has the next expected date for national elections for various countries, would make it much easier to keep track of 😂
Never mind, Wiki already has one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_next_general_elections
