In the UK truck = semi/box van etc. and a US truck = pickup, I think the same goes for Aus and NZ too
It gets confusing, and that's without mentioning pants!
So a truck is a pickup, but truck drivers drive semis? ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
We also call semis wagons (when we're not calling them trucks), and what you call wagons we call estate cars
Over here that's standard, anything towing can only use the first 2 lanes when its three or (rarely) four wide. That includes cars with trailers etc.
But it's illegal to undertake and it's enforced, and we don't have exits in the middle of motorways/freeways, just on the edges with either a bridge or underpass to get to the other side
I'm sure there are still a few areas over here that aren't Marxist, hopefully the GE will show that with a Labour collapse
French cars used to have a quirkiness that made them interesting, now most of them are just the same as all the rest
That's going to be an absolute shitstorm unless they have someone following each and every player, all the time
Price of gold would just crash, unless a company owned the land the meteor landed on and were able to control it the way diamonds are
They use really low grade fuel because it's cheaper even though it's really dirty
Once they're in International Waters then there's no one to police their emissions
Whoever is being groomed as her successor in the CDU will take over that role, though she may end up being a more vocal former Chancellor, like Blair currently is in the UK. Germany is the largest country in the EU both in terms on population and economic contribution which explains why it is her rather than a different national leader, but they have both the President of the Parliament and of the Commission who should be taking that role.
Gilet Jaune again?
The radical changes? Probably 'the media' being seized from those who currently own it and given to a body who will ensure that they only print the 'correct' truths that he agrees with
But muh millennials who just use uber and have never learned to drive?
Except you can't recycle pizza boxes either because they're too greasy!
Irn Bru as well, and whiskey
Our centre and your centre are very different
Most of your left, certainly up until a few years ago at least, would be right wing over here. The 'squad' and Bernice may have changed that a little, certainly on some issues at least, but most of them are probably still there
Currently to fit in with the main left wing party that's correct, but it's swung from centre left to far left in the past 5 years, since Corbyn took charge. The majority of the MPs have been in longer than that and are more centrist, they just don't have enough say in choosing the next leader since their choices go to the membership, which is now stacked far left
If Labour do split both parties will do terribly until one of them withers and collapses into the other one, or until one/both collapse into an existing established party and join them
It's your wife they want to fuck, not themselves...
They'll be counting all the new members since their leader made the comment, and assuming they all must be from BF or something like that
They can't, but they can use it to slander the Tories so they'll say just about anything
Pushing extremists into the spotlight promote fear & hate, which gets people watching them for updates to see if they should be more scared or not. More viewers allows them to sell their advertising breaks for more money. Simple capitalism
Possibly to do with the massive Amazon distribution centre being built next door?
I thought it's on what google still shows as the lighter coloured field here? Changes that street from having nice fields on two sides to having a narrow strip of them between two industrial estates?
Refer to them as Middle Eastern and they'd soon brush it under the carpet
Isn't it just a larger parliament made up of people who don't know how parliaments work?
Problem is you'll end up with at least 25% selected who don't care so either just go with the majority, or don't do anything
Unless the coalition collapses in Italy again
Though I think the left wing parties are more likely to try and cobble any sort of coalition rather than let Salvani have a chance to win
Just looking at the Finnish and Swedish polling results and party alignments and I'm not sure about them leaving. The only Finnish party that is anti-EU is Finns Party and although they're polling highest they're only on about 23%. The Sweden Democrats are in a similar position of being the only anti-EU party on 29%.
Yes, hopefully they'll keep climbing but I don't think the political systems there make single party majorities likely, I suspect Italy and Portugal are most likely to be next to go as you said
Yeah, they seem very strong and if the centre collapses enough there might be a gulf between left and right to stop them creating a 'centrist' coalition just to keep them out
>Vox in Spain are going to be an interesting case
Especially if the ECJ force them to exonerate the leader of the Catalan separatists
I've not kept as close an eye on Spanish politics, that's a pretty good rise, they're a fairly new party aren't they? Or have they been there and not getting anything for ages then grown massively?
That's a huge jump! Hopefully they can keep it up until after their next elections. Spanish politics have been pretty left wing across the board since they got rid of Franco haven't they?
Wiki labels them as right-wing to far-right, but I think you get far-right or far-left if you're Eurosceptic on there
Same EU group as Tories, Sweden Democrats and Polish Law and Justice Party so they can't be that far right
They're the 3rd largest in their Congress currently, but nowhere in the Senate
Someone needs to create a website that has the next expected date for national elections for various countries, would make it much easier to keep track of ๐
Never mind, Wiki already has one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_next_general_elections
Yeah, if slavery was an option you'd have some companies reduce their workforce and take a brief hit, then start replacing the rest of their workforce with slaves as they became available, places like Amazon warehouses spring to mind
Tbh, I'd say it's between the US and the Militias/Iran and I'm sure the US is a big boy who can stand up for themselves without needing to call in their dad ๐
Joined them in just about every other war they've started in the Middle East?
Even though we're calling for calm and diplomatic solutions across the board this time
Wouldn't they support bringing more over rather than reducing the number being born over there?
Wouldn't joining/organising protests against the country that you're a diplomat of be firstly counterproductive to your job as ambassador, and be a very valid reason to being recalled and replaced?
Though if you think there's about to be a regime change getting in with the protesters might be helpful even if still unwise
Depends on the mortgage but usually, though if you're getting a better interest rate its usually worth it especially earlier on in the mortgage
Ouch, anyone found anything better than the Santander 123 now they're cutting the interest again?
Yeah, it's been like that for a good few years now, that's why I kept everything in the 123 when the top rate was 3%
Yeah, they're keeping the monthly fee at ยฃ5 but capping the cashback at ยฃ5 per rate, and dropping the interest from 1.5% to 1%
Initially it was 1% up to ~2k, 2% up to ~5k then 3% up to 20k
I'd say it was relevant, conversation was about whether a stem uni course would be infected with wokeness, that article was about an attempt to wokify maths
Well they must care a lot with the amount of fuss they're kicking up <:thinkgon:560211224923734026>
How would it work, only a few of them have enough people to be around an MPs worth of voters?
No more tax haven status for them...
They appear to be based on polls I've seen
Paris
Yeah, even in London there's a reasonable amount of Tories surely
I'd be happy with one near me but I don't think the location would be suitable. They're a lot safer than most people think, and they'll bring well paid jobs in to the area
Depends if you count the fracking caused ones in the NW
Other than that I think there have been a couple of 2-3 ones but that's it
@wacka are you counting the jets as well as the weather?
Fair enough, never though that would be the case @wacka, according to the US national climate data centre at least, and based on tornadoes/area
Potentially, then those who get sick will hide at home to prevent it being noticed, until the body starts to smell...
You're not talking about the horse fair I though you were on about then!
It was the 3rd most complained about TV incident in the UK of the 2010s according to OfCom
That's a lovely holiday to a re-education camp for you oblongy
Rather not, but there are reports that Cisco switches being compromised by the US too
Ideally national network infrastructure security would be judged to be important enough to be built by UK companies in the UK, having been audited by government experts. (Same could be said for the national grid and power plants to some extent)
I tried that argument, but got "Good, it'll make it impossible for us to try and leave again" thrown back at me :/
Yes, though they've been vocally pro further EU integration and for giving up our special conditions since before there was any talk of the referendum @Hopix , surprisingly we're able to have civil conversations about politics usually, though we have to agree to disagree on Brexit because we know neither of us is budging towards the other at all.
Please tell me that's a spoof?
I'm not an expert but it does seem that Greece would be in a better place now if it had been kicked out of the Euro and have economics take their course rather than being bailed out and forced into economic slavery
If there's a camera van in my town it's all over the local facebook group in about 5 minutes. Not that that would help if you're already driving or from out the area
There's a long sweeping bend that's slightly downhill and has a section with no trees that they like parking part way round here, or half way down one of the 2 steep hills leading in/out
Overall charts Ode to Joy at 30, 17m Fuck Offs at 43
Given most of the noise about these was on social media it'd say that's as close to a win as it was going to get. It would have needed the mainstream press to get involved the way they did for the X-Factor/RatM incident for a significant portion of Brexiteers to know about it
Half the articles on the BBC website (or the front page at least) seem to be similar these days
They tried to attract the younger social media generation with 'articles' in the format that they want that can be read really quickly, rather than high quality longer form articles
Pro or anti?
Impressive, I wonder how long it'll last though
Or building standards
It's fine, they shot him rather than arrested him, he won't be getting back out tomorrow
What are the odds that petrol prices don't follow?
EPP is Cameron's Tories, ECR is more like the ERG Tories? The ID has National Rally, Lega, etc.?
Except Catalonia, give them independence just to put the cherry on top
It would be great if the public responded to that by giving AfD an even bigger vote share
You shouldn't question whether racism has increased, you should always assume it has, if you don't you're racist
Good, teach the kids some respect and discipline
No, but displays of respect to the authority of the staff will hopefully pass down into the students mentality and allow the teachers to better control the class and teach more effectively
I have colleagues who live in that area and there is a significant number of youths and kids who have no respect for authority, but if the rest of the students respect the teacher and therefore don't indulge the trouble makers they may cause less trouble
Even with an electoral pact at the last election the best TBP could have got would be the Tories standing in some seats that weren't already held by Tories. Even winning +50 seats in that situation would at most get Farage as Deputy PM or Foreign Minister or similar, along with some ministers for smaller departments

Another potential nail in the 'green' coffin
I'm just waiting for the day that the police somewhere get a warrant to GPS data for someone's Tesla to prove whether they were speeding or not, then hammer them with a lot more speeding offences they find from it
