...right?
Why the heck is Boris planning scrap the boundary review reduction of seats from 650 to 600?
Something like that yes
what?
eccles, do you have a source on that
on what?
``[12:53] Eccles: Why the heck is Boris planning scrap the boundary review reduction of seats from 650 to 600?``
Sure
What will be the result of that boundary change
Idea is to ensure each constituency represents roughly the same number of citizens
^
At the moment, London is hopelessly overrepresented by MPs
So the result will probably be fewer Labour MPs
But not by much
the only thing there that says boris is planning on scrapping it is just literally those 14 words ``Boris’s plan to scrap the boundary review’s reduction of seats from 650 to 600.``
i combed the included video 3 times to find no mention of it and there appears to also be no further mention of it. so i think that this claim is false until otherwise proven
the focus seems to be more on the supreme court
so unless you have any other material on that, i'm inclined not to believe it
It's rumour
Referenced here:
oh wait.. Ive been watching last weeks PMQs 😛 doh
yeah i read this too
so a rumour only, alright
we'll know when the concrete bill is proposed
either way, the boundary changes are necessary
as is supreme court reform
Fail, Wacka.
Are they doing anything about Scottish overrepresentation?
Scotland aren't overrepresented, unless you consider devolution to be such
They clearly are, The SNP got 48 seats with only 3.8% of the popular vote
Some of that is down to FPTP but some of it is down to Scottish Overrepresentation
that's not relevent, lizard -are the constituencies the same number of people,. by and large, as the rest of the uK?
They need to reduce from 650 to 600 mps just so they can all fucking sit down
has a crowdfund started to ring BIg Ben for brexit and if so where is it?
I dont think its that they are overrepresented... I think its just a low voter turnout
cos less than 2% of the UK voted SNP and they have over 5% of the seats
or less than 2% of UK voters voted SNP
don't htink so, mood
well how much % of scotland voted SNP since they like to make it about them <:smugon:512048583806025739>
if it's a low % in their own nation that's going to be funny
