But even if they want to stay permanently it seems like a slippery slope to start banning people from staying based on their political views alone
its like when you rent a place out... you can have whatever rules you want, and choose who lives in your house... but once theyre in.. whether they break your rules or not, its very difficult to get them out

And the bureaucracy around it doesn't help
my mother had to organise a 747 every day to fly illegal immigrants to germany
because when people came in for asylum they did not automatically have the EU's freedom of movement... so they had to be sent back to their point of entry
and that was just one airline
so the millions of people that came into germany came here
but I think we've probably caught at least a tenth of them.. so theres that
