I just call myself a "republican", in Finnish of course. Republics are so varied it can mean damn near anythnig.

My last name is English, but I'm less than a quarter ethnically English. It would be ridiculous to think of myself as a Briton.

White Americans are our own specific branch of the European race, and you can probably even divide that up into 3 or so sub-groups. Not to discourage identifying with your ancestry, but I think it's silly to take these heritage groups seriously as a Euro-mutt.
