quartering and dawnforgecast have good videos about it. tl:dr - someone in the roll20 reddit postetd a fairly long critique of stuff he thought doesn't work well and the designers felt pissed off by this and blocked his account because of reasons. Well the user was not amused by this and said this is a misunderstanding, he is innocent and if his account is not reinstated to the end of mounth he will quit his roll20 account and will always remind people of how bad roll20 as a company is. Well this did not go well with roll20, they pissed on him and the community. AND the community pissed back as it seems, because roll20 did a real big backpaddle suddenly and reinstated the guys account. It seems a lot of people quit their accounts in protest and they did get a lot of flak from influancial channels.

One can sum it up in the category of: How not to do public relations or how not do run a company

especially if you do a nieche product for a nieche audience

Yea thats the half the quartering covered. The part taking 20 and dawnforgedcaat covered is when the 5 of the biggest ttrpg content makers went to them for a sponser on a series the same guy said, "We dont need 5 white guys" then clouted his virtue signal about a woman or black woman he sponsered.

Yea whats fucked is taking 20 guy has worked for roll 20 making content, and even before that he shilled them for free. Dude was one of the biggest people promoting roll 20 and showing people how to use it.

It would have been one thing to say, "we arnt interested at this time." Another to say what he did.
