so I can see how all different things play out

2018-08-15 21:19:59 UTC

idk why this is even a debateable topic. I thought it was common knowledge about American 'muscle cars' and large displacement engines prior to the gas crisis.

Yes, you're right about 'performance', but there wasn't really even a competition between the regions yet. Different vehicles for different kinds of roads.

2018-08-15 21:20:39 UTC

And turbos weren't common yet, until the advent of CAD and more precision engineering

2018-08-15 21:21:00 UTC

Not until the mid-80s

ITC: insanely low level conversations masked as high level ones with yellow prose.

what if they're GREEN

2018-08-15 22:56:17 UTC

what then

For my Bristish friends...

2018-08-16 17:31:32 UTC

Yeah, they were a marketing nightmare here

2018-08-16 17:31:47 UTC

Fox body mustang is still better though

but you got the Focus now

just took a little time

2018-08-16 17:39:24 UTC

But it's wrong wheel drive

2018-08-16 20:52:22 UTC

why didn't he just crank the boost on the original engine?

2018-08-16 21:27:46 UTC

@LOGiK Because the Coyote is lighter, more powerful, and more robust?

2018-08-16 21:28:22 UTC

prefer the original engine, it can push a lot of boost too

2018-08-16 21:30:05 UTC

lol the original engine is why the Sierra failed stateside. It was the same wheelbase and weight as a Mustang, but had the entry level 4cyl with no v8 option.

I don't think we got any Cosworth engine in it

2018-08-16 21:30:52 UTC

could look or will look hmm it looks good to me

2018-08-16 21:32:12 UTC

It's more in line with the current design language, versus the original concept iteration, I think is what they're going for

2018-08-17 00:22:04 UTC

I'm not certain but there are sierras running around with close to 500hp, I'm not sure how different the engines are but like I said, there's a lot of boost to be had

2018-08-17 00:23:28 UTC

also the weight saving is likely due to the lack of a turbo system, and probably offset by a heavier transmission

2018-08-17 00:43:34 UTC

I think it's the same transmission.

2018-08-17 00:45:55 UTC

It was the Pinto engine

2018-08-17 01:59:27 UTC

If I recall there's a 1000hp pinto out there

2018-08-17 02:00:24 UTC
2018-08-17 02:00:46 UTC

I mean that is ludicrous and probably cost a crippling amount

2018-08-17 02:01:05 UTC

I would absolutely advocate a different engine for that kind of power

2018-08-17 09:10:30 UTC

Tiny Garrett turbo
