we already have depleted uranuim
another Westwood classic
That's a marcharius tank
Some day I hope to have a black powder Ruck Zuck
Ruck...... Zuck?
i am musket
I'd settle for a reproduction, honestly
Ahh a mannlicher
The *Man-licker?*
You got good tastes @banestrum
I'd love to try out the original black powder blunt nose bullets as well
@banestrum I've tried them. Slightly more accurate than lead ball, but not really worth the hassle of having to load it correctly
So how much worse is it compared to the cartridge that replaced it in the 30s?
Which 30's? 1830s, or 1930s?
How big a deal is the ballistic difference between that and the original https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8%C3%9750mmR_Mannlicher one?
idk, I'm talking about black powder muzzleloaders
Oh, wikipedia says it's only a 100 m/s difference
Not too bad
Oh, apparently there's three rounds
Jesus christ Austro-Hungary, no wonder you fucking lost
Just fucking pick one round
@banestrum implying Austria Hungary was ever competent
@Deleted User I said no such thing
They were worth existing solely for that rifle and some pistols, if nothing else
multiple nations, multiple languages, multiple cartridges <:makes_you_think:382980749780844554>
spitzer cartridges are much more stable in flight
The elongated round nose shit is fun but not if you're shooting targets far away
also faster
@banestrum Every country went through caliber salad. It's fine. It eventually all settles down to some choices.
Maybe not the best choices (I am looking at you UK and USA), but standardised stuff anyway

@Uksio I would have liked to see how the .280 caliber england had in mind would have performed
They had a superior cartridge to 5.57, but they also had a few generals with huge egos who were not to be reasoned with
