Somebody who writes about a games, should know video games.
Even if they only know the most casual phone games or the sims, at least that is something.
I often feel Polygon doesn't like video games at all.
Just in general, its' a video game website that hates video games.
Unless the games are made by their friends or feature diversity as they define diversity.

Women have a tendency to get emotional over things that are just mechanical.
They tend not to care about learning the intricacies of complex systems

I find it odd that the developers resisted any attempt at being reasoned with over the lack of progression in that game. Something that everyone who's been exposed to it for more than an hour, have pointed out. It's like they want the game to fail.
