I cant not smile tho XD
@Thomas the Sowell Train [USA]
Definitely worth playing; also worth (esp for Fallout 2) chasing up a few patches that don't actually 'add' anything into the game inasmuch as they activate otherwise-dormant assets in the game
Think it's called the restoration project
If you want to play Halo-Online (PC, free) or World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (PC, Free) with us, type either `!halo` or `!wow`. See ya'll on the battlefield!
So
Say I've never touched a FF game.
What would be some good games to coax me into the series?
The first 6 games
If you’re looking for an old fashion, turn based rpg
That’s 2D
What about the infamous 7? Is it worth trying
And “fantasy”
7 is a really good game
I just couldn’t get in all the spinoffs of 7
.

@Hyddraigon 7 is legitimately good. when I was an edgy asshole years ago I gave it far more shit than I should have.
It's not a legend but it was solid drama. beyond that...the first 3 might be good to skip but 4-6 are pretty good, with 5 being a bit simple in terms of story and the other two having solid drama themes....adjusting for their age.
8's fucking retarded. not without charms, just kinda dumb in places. if that doesn't bother you, go for it.
9's easily my favorite. good throwback elements to the classics, great drama.
10 I have never liked because it just spends too much time being a whinefest or leaning on the idiot factor too hard.
@Futh m8 I love ya tastes in FF
that's exactly how I feel about em
I like the story in 12 but can't articulate why. don't let the whole "the supposed MC is irrelevant" thing bother you. he's basically just the local noob and the cast in FF is typically an ensemble one anyway.
I love the setting of 12
I really ought to play through 2. it's been so long.
the Ivalice setting is my favorite
same! Just reading the bestiary entries(forget what they're called) was a joy for me!
there's so much history and lore in it
it's almost as lore intensive as 7, but without all the edge
I really need to play through the high-difficulty mod for tactics.
I am going to get creamed in dollet
I could never get into the MMO FFs
they weren't for me
XI is rough, but XIV is easily one of my new favorites because it's basically devoid of the hyperexaggeration newer FF's typically have
it's just really down to earth but I getcha
XIII is Hallway: the game
oh god.....I nearly quit the series over XIII
liked lightning...just hated snow
