I actually met some guys from the communist party of canada once

they were recording a speechy thing at a tv station I was interning at

apparently they came to my dad's work for signatures to get themsleves on some kind of ballot

they know they're never going anywhere but they want to have their voices be spoken

had a very short chat with them, not even about their ideals but why they're running

they basically said "free speech is a thing, this is what we believe, we're tossing our hat in"

I hate communism and communists but I can respect the fact that everyone has the right and ability to do that
