ahem, whisky... whiskey is Irish π
pffffft I care more about where it says it's from on the label
no TRUE whisky π π π
yeah, Western Isle whiskys are more woody, with a smoother aftertaste than the Speyside whiskys, which are more of a heather odour with a sharper aftertaste.
All I know is we are a heelind clan and they drink a lot of firewater
You guys would love our Louisiana bourbon moonshine whiskey.
Good news is it stopped turning people blind about 10 years ago.

In celebration of Australia Day, meet LNER A4 Pacific #4491 *Commonwealth of Australia*, one of the Coronation Sisters, 5 engines named after British territories to celebrate the King's coronation just before the war. They had a special band of silver running along the bottom of the engine.
The engines are
4488 Union of South Africa
4489 Dominion of Canada
4490 Empire of India
4491 Commonwealth of Australia
4492 Dominion of New Zealand
4488 and 4489 survived into preservation, and locomotive 4464 Bittern has worn the guise of 4492 in preservation (pictured here with a 2nd tender, the same that was modified for use with 4472 Flying Scotsman, obviously this isn't prototypical)
Here are the surviving A4s from when they were reunited in 2014 in celebration of Mallard's 128mph record
(LNER 4498) **BR 60007** Sir Nigel Gresley
(LNER 4496) **BR 60008** Dwight D. Eisenhower
(LNER 4488) **BR 60009** Union of South Africa
**LNER 4489** (BR 60010) Dominion of Canada
**LNER 4464** (BR 60019) Bittern
**LNER 4468** (BR 60022) Mallard
**Bold** is the numbers they are wearing
Interesting to note that there are 2 of each A4 naming convention in preservation, with the exception of the Silver Jubilee locomotives
2 locomotives named after people
2 locomotives named after countries
2 locomotives named after birds (which was the standard for the A4 class)
ofc they complain about the skin color as per their "black history month"
Guys, Eaglelanders, check out this thread https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1062823813338091520.html
Maybe such illustrations in her, at the time, modern school books could have cured my significant other of her disinterest in history <:pepe_smug:378719408341909506>
They deified our founding fathers?!
*Kick ass!*
What
Did they think we just fought black people during our independence? That was later. Lol
Uh
Also it should be noted
