I see it this way: Illegal immigrants should be given immediate, basic medical treatment, then immediately tossed over the border if they haven't been productive, contributing members of society

Seeking asylum is not a crime, and neither is denying it. The left approaches immigration the same way the right approaches climate change - there is no conversation around the very real adverse trade offs of population surges of unskilled, high birthrate people.

Whatever the solution to the problem of illegal immigration (and it is a problem), we have to agree on a reality and then work to solve it to the best we can. We cannot make policy on pictures and anecdotes. Statistics must win the day.

Asylum for all is not a solution. If my party can’t discuss both sides of the immigration debate cogently, and show we’re serious about solving it (not blanket asylum and a general open borders policy) then I fear we will loose again when it comes time to vote.```
