And not the good kind of bashing
I've seen that. David davis, borris, him, burns have all resigned
Borris resigned just before may had to address parliament too
UKIP coz fuck it, We are out of options
I hope it works, fuckers deserve their brexit and maybe some freedom of speech, you know, at least a little?
question to ya'll. if we somehow manage to find FTL, and start colonizing new worlds, who will own the newly colonized land? how will nations work? would we all need to cooperate as a new world order? what happens if a corporation colonizes a planet, will they be the new nation?
likely it'll just be a political repeat of the age of exploration
we could potential have planets called mcdonalds land (remember virginia)
wha
what happened in virginia
if I remember right virginina is named for a corperation that existed at the time
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
cool
@MountainMan I think it's more likey that individual nations will conduct their own colonization efforts
and it would take some historic event for the world to unite, maybe
So would that whole country colonize the planet? So we have a planet being under China, whilst China still has land on earth?
@MountainMan It could be split
Outer Space Treaty still exists.
big hmmmmm
No land off earth can legally be claimed by any signatory.
we could have another treaty of tordesillas
hmmm
And such claims are likely to be completely ignored by any signatories as well.
@Somi when colonization becomes a thing I'm sure that treaty will ge torn up
^
I'm thinking pretty sci fie. So tech for colonization ain't a problem. I'm just thinking of how the practicality would work.
Like, who gets to own the new lands?
treaties
Would it even work without the world uniting under a single banner?
treaties
nice
I'm gonna be pretty honest
It's very, very likely that the modern definition of a nation state will be obsolete by that time.
There'd probably be a clearer dividing line between 'access to space' and 'no access to space' than between, say, the US and China.
hmmmm
it's entierly possible the private sector will be the first space colonists I refer you again to the virginia corperation
or more accuratly the london corperation
