@Wizord On the Ben Shapiro Sunday Special with Jonathan Haidt, Jon talked about how recently Republican hate for Democrats has surpassed Democrat hate for Republicans... but I was skeptical about what this really meant. Even temperamental differences alone suggest that the two sides would mean different things when they say they "hate" the other. It's not like we see Republicans getting violent and throwing fits over every little thing. There's a video on youtube called "Trump supporters say the darndest things" and it's just some guy going around a Trump rally interviewing people to make all Trump supporters look dumb. The *top* comment on the video said that if you seriously support Trump, you seriously need to be punched in the throat. People on the right might meme about throwing lefties out of helicopters and all that but serious calls to violence are never accepted.
Ultimately the fact that one side disproportionately commits almost all of the violence is a key demonstrator that both sides don't really mean the same thing when they say "hate".
Now it is an interesting measurement, but I feel more questions should be asked. For example, the questioners should find out whether this expressed hatred is more directed towards the politicians or the voters. From Rep to Dem, is it more directed towards your average Dem or is it almost exclusively towards Resisters and Antifa?
