Fucking finally, my name is restored

>Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (SPSC)
>kiosk selling "dead sea products" whatever that means.
>SPSC declares it a legitimate target for boycott
>Jewish Lawyer and self-described "zionist" Berlow starts harassing SPSC and one Dr Hijazi who claims to be of Palestinian descent
>Hijazi brings it up with Law Society of Scotland
>Law society takes issue with it
>Berlow ordered to pay fine and undergo "diversity training"
>Calls diversity training unnecessary (afterall, that's just for straight white men), and declares the fine "the cost of defending Israel."
TFW you're throwing around terms like "Social Justice Warrior" and "Snowflake" then act like a righteous martyr over a fucking kiosk.

Is there a word for urbanization, But instead of cities it’s countries?

2018-10-24 21:48:21 UTC

.....

2018-10-24 21:48:25 UTC

secession?

2018-10-24 21:52:33 UTC

Hmhmhm I dunno

2018-10-24 23:02:40 UTC

Nation building?

What do you mean by urbanization that you want to find a similar situation in international geopolitics?

2018-10-24 23:03:44 UTC

Industrialization?

2018-10-24 23:05:53 UTC

```Economic development is the process by which a nation improves the economic, political, and social well-being of its people. The term has been used frequently by economists, politicians, and others in the 20th and 21st centuries. The concept, however, has been in existence in the West for centuries. "Modernization, "westernization", and especially "industrialization" are other terms often used while discussing economic development. ```
2018-10-24 23:06:27 UTC
I'd go with industrialization
2018-10-24 23:06:45 UTC
yeah that's good
2018-10-24 23:16:20 UTC
The terms described there are mostly from the Rowtow's model of development in the 60s, which has been proven to be outdated and very Eurocentric
2018-10-24 23:16:59 UTC
We have to understand that development as a whole is not a linear process or a standard universal model applicable to all nations and communities
2018-10-24 23:19:10 UTC
every society and nation has developed in their own way through their own methods. Seeing the European model as the singular model which would have eventually be applied to everyone else is false. The argument that the Meso Americans or Subsaharan African tribes would eventually reach our level of development is not true, because the prerequisites weren't there or would never have reached them
2018-10-25 01:23:05 UTC
^This guy thinks they were to retarded
2018-10-25 01:32:34 UTC
I mean they had the same amount of time as the rest of the world to invent stuff... and stayed at lower than Bronze Age.
2018-10-25 01:33:43 UTC
In Guns, Germs and Steel it’s explained that that is due to many factors
2018-10-25 01:33:48 UTC
ehhhhhhhhh
2018-10-25 01:33:48 UTC
Most of them geographical
2018-10-25 01:34:01 UTC
Guns Germs and steel is a good start
2018-10-25 01:34:16 UTC
I think the reason most societies evolved well is because they learned to produce enough food
2018-10-25 01:34:26 UTC
For the society as a whole to progress
2018-10-25 01:34:50 UTC
If you have enough food, then you don’t need every individual from the tribe to go hunting or fishing or whatever
2018-10-25 01:35:34 UTC
At that moment, the tribe organizes itself into a hierarchy capable of defending itself from other tribes
2018-10-25 01:36:36 UTC
And you get urban-agricultural societies in which you have a town with farms surrounding it, with a farming class that produces food for the whole town
2018-10-25 01:36:53 UTC
And the soldier class protecting the farmers from outside threats
2018-10-25 01:37:33 UTC
When there isn’t any fertile ground or agricultural method to make plenty of food, you retain a hunter-gatherer society
2018-10-25 01:37:39 UTC
Where every day people scrape for food
2018-10-25 01:37:46 UTC
I think the reason the west succeeded where other people failed is complicated
2018-10-25 01:37:59 UTC
but it starts with the idea of a rational logical god
2018-10-25 01:38:08 UTC
and the world conforms to that concept
2018-10-25 01:38:09 UTC
It’s mostly luck that we had certain individuals come up with good ideas
2018-10-25 01:38:23 UTC
Like the steam engine or other stuff like that
2018-10-25 01:38:44 UTC
Rational god=Rational consistent measurable universe
2018-10-25 01:38:58 UTC
Or the French Revolution, where a crazy idea was put into practice
2018-10-25 01:39:06 UTC
...
