i think the issue was the server was already laggy, but because i was rubber banding all around on a boat the game thought i was moving like 40+ blocks at a time

how about hosting 1.13 until 1.14 becomes playable?

I say just hold off on mapping and quick expansion till 1.14.1 when we can fix the chunk issues. That's what I've been doing, just local projects
