Don't know if what I am saying is heretic or not but how I am supposed to feel about some dubious things in the old testament, like Lot being intoxicated by his daughters?

the OT doesn't tell you that the events described in it are all an example of good behaviour lmao

You have to understand, the bulk of the Old Testament is meant to be taken as a warning. Lots of stuff sounds bad as a sound byte, but taken in context it's always making an important statement recounting the degeneracy

It is made very clear that Israel had a hard heart, but God makes it clear what is the final commandment: love God above all things, and your neighbor as yourself

That is what Christ then repeats, but it is in the OT, when the mosaic law is given

"And Israel did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord" **punishment happens** is basically the cycle you'll notice surrounding that stuff
