Had a go at explaining Eucharistic theology to a prot this morning.
Didn't do too badly, but tripped myself up a bit trying to explain how transubstantiaion isn't a symbol.
Yeah figuring out the significance of transubstantiation took me a loooong time coming from a memorial communion background
It's hard for prots to understand church words that aren't their specific dialect in general I thing
@TheImperator really late, but Space Station 13 was my jam like 7 years back. Completely forgot about it.
@SUPER MALE VITALITY™ Think the biggest hurdle is explaining to people that there are metaphysical entities in the world besides God. It was the concept of matter and substance where I lost them it seems.
Transubstantiation is definitely what i struggle with the most when explaining things to prots.
Of course that and the whole, we don't worship saints.
yeah as a Prot I see how transubstantiation is among the hardest things for Catholics to explain, primarily due to the very specific and nuanced philosophical concepts. That's why I appreciate the Orthodox approach more; the mechanics are a mystery. It avoids the risk effort and inherent risks of philosophical assumptions. Though ultimately I'm a symbolic/real presence dude.
Its a mystery, dude, chill out
I think the mechanics or at least a theory of sorts is something important.
Otherwise it becomes a "no, it isn't" "yes, it is" conversation about whether the Eucharist is a symbol or not.
Find it staggering that people who believe sola scriptura don't seem to understand the direct nature of the statement "This is my body".
I think the Catholic approach makes more sense, mostly because I hate things just being a mystery.

>christianism
what
Who knows🤔
why everyone still believes in the "Jesus was a jew" meme
Pagan gang rise up<:wojakbrainlet1:510858664534474752>
Because they're retarded
Also
>wise king decides to convert to Christianity and converts his people
>1000 years later some mental midget claims he's worshipping the way his ancestors did
Pagans keep coming up with new terms to avoid simply saying Christianity
“Christcucktanity” “Christlam”
“Christianism”

Seceretary for the festival I run is in a mood with me. <:30yroldboomer:559771742504091648>
in a mood?
must be female
females are always in moods
Nah, he's a guy.
But I'm scrutinizing him a bit at the moment and I've been a bit curt about it.
Mainly because I don't think his head is entirely in the right place at the moment, what with recent 2nd child and all, and recently one of our potential endorsement deals fell through, but seeing as correspondence wasn't done through the official channels I've not seen any of the correspondence for it, so I'm thinking some of it might be his fuck up.

> see /r/askreddit post: "what mind-blowing (but simple) facts would satisfy a 4-year old daughter's daily request for 1 fact before bedtime?"
> me: "Despite being only 13% of the population..."
Any other ideas?
