Prayer request: ive been far too focused on the apologetic/rational arm of the faith; always engaging and researching the arguments of extremely educated critics of Christianity. Tho I believe ive overcome their arguments, the sheer volume of them and their articulate nature has put immense pressure on my faith. Its constantly on my mind and its so hard to focus on other things. I just need prayer to get them out of my head and refocus on my spiritual walk, which ive neglected for far too long. Its only through the spirit that one can engage the unbelievers properly, and i never considered that.

I'm especially involved in egalitarianism vs complimentarianism, so I just ordered "Women in the Church" by Andreas Korstenberger and other complimentarian theologians. Andreas in particular is great at responding to egalitarians so I recommend his stuff

Complimentarianism is a broader term for generally male headshep and women support in family and/or church. Patriarchy is the most sensible, consistent, and effective form

Big oath. Im in Pentecostal circles so the air of hostility towards complimentarianism is VERY thick, even in the very conservative sections. I'm almost totally alone in my views but hope to get them out as I trek through academia (studying theology). Hope to do some talks and release books on the subject.

yeah as a Prot I see how transubstantiation is among the hardest things for Catholics to explain, primarily due to the very specific and nuanced philosophical concepts. That's why I appreciate the Orthodox approach more; the mechanics are a mystery. It avoids the risk effort and inherent risks of philosophical assumptions. Though ultimately I'm a symbolic/real presence dude.
