Tfw the wife came home from the second-hand shop with a ton of 1 euro Mel Gibson movies 👌

The Passion is perfect. In case you aren't aware, the gospels aren't this ultra-detailed description of every single little aspect.

2019-07-07 06:27:42 UTC

I think there's merit in the contemplation of the extent of the suffering and sacrifice. Contemporary hearers of the gospel would be acutely aware of the horrors, it is good to keep the modern informed, the physical aspect of the sacrifice was important as an illustration of the intent and depth of the love being carried out

2019-07-07 08:12:55 UTC

Perfect? I wouldn't say so. Though, I *did* warm to it after a little while.

2019-07-07 08:19:11 UTC

Well there is the scene with the crow

2019-07-07 08:19:23 UTC

But 95% at least

2019-07-07 08:33:26 UTC

The scene where Mary has the flashback to Christ as a young boy falling over is one of the standout moments.

2019-07-07 09:30:28 UTC

The local SSPX rector gave a sermon on how that's theologically inaccurate <:thinksmirk:564102152239185920>

2019-07-07 09:55:55 UTC

Mary being a mother is Theologically inaccurate?

2019-07-07 10:00:22 UTC

a scholar

2019-07-07 10:00:31 UTC

our boy is a scholar

2019-07-07 12:32:57 UTC

No, Jesus falling over as a child is inaccurate.

2019-07-07 12:36:53 UTC

Then what is the problem?

2019-07-07 13:27:54 UTC

Oh crap forgot today was Sunday

2019-07-07 13:30:31 UTC

Well today I got back test results from a college class I did in may.

2019-07-07 13:31:09 UTC

How did it go?

2019-07-07 13:34:33 UTC

Awesome, I passed both AP test, 4/5 which is basically an eight.

2019-07-07 13:34:38 UTC

Eighty

2019-07-07 13:34:44 UTC

Nice

2019-07-07 13:35:32 UTC

Im in high school and those AP credits will help alot, hundreds of dollars I don't have to pay in college.

2019-07-07 13:36:35 UTC

The fact that Jesus was a perfect child apparently means he wouldn't have been able to fall over. Perfect balance, and whatnot.

2019-07-07 13:37:18 UTC

I don't know... the Society is full of incomprehensible rubbish nowadays.

2019-07-07 13:37:36 UTC

2019-07-07 13:38:55 UTC

Doesn't seem theologically sound, but rather a wordly way to understand the divine nature and its relationship to the human one

2019-07-07 16:15:36 UTC

I don't know. Not my circus, not my monkey.

2019-07-07 16:16:03 UTC

Here's a picture of Solemn Pontifical Vespers.

2019-07-07 16:17:11 UTC

Why is there a menorah?

2019-07-07 16:18:42 UTC

Also, @Mozalbete ⳩ my church has opened up a museum on the Shroud. We’ve got a lot of neat little artifacts and what not and a 1:1 copy of the Shroud. They’re eventually going to build a building to house everything in.

2019-07-07 16:44:00 UTC

Very nice. What are the artifacts related to?

2019-07-07 16:45:09 UTC

The history of the Shroud and research done on it

2019-07-07 17:26:06 UTC

It's not a menorah

2019-07-07 17:26:08 UTC

Well

2019-07-07 17:26:09 UTC

Kind of

2019-07-07 17:28:02 UTC

It's a replica of the menorah taken from the Temple of Jerusalem during the sack in 70 AD.

2019-07-07 17:41:34 UTC

Menorah is the symbol of the presence of God in scripture
