I think there's merit in the contemplation of the extent of the suffering and sacrifice. Contemporary hearers of the gospel would be acutely aware of the horrors, it is good to keep the modern informed, the physical aspect of the sacrifice was important as an illustration of the intent and depth of the love being carried out
Perfect? I wouldn't say so. Though, I *did* warm to it after a little while.
Well there is the scene with the crow
But 95% at least
The scene where Mary has the flashback to Christ as a young boy falling over is one of the standout moments.
The local SSPX rector gave a sermon on how that's theologically inaccurate <:thinksmirk:564102152239185920>
Mary being a mother is Theologically inaccurate?
a scholar
our boy is a scholar
No, Jesus falling over as a child is inaccurate.
Then what is the problem?
Oh crap forgot today was Sunday
Well today I got back test results from a college class I did in may.
How did it go?
Awesome, I passed both AP test, 4/5 which is basically an eight.
Eighty
Nice
Im in high school and those AP credits will help alot, hundreds of dollars I don't have to pay in college.
The fact that Jesus was a perfect child apparently means he wouldn't have been able to fall over. Perfect balance, and whatnot.
I don't know... the Society is full of incomprehensible rubbish nowadays.
Doesn't seem theologically sound, but rather a wordly way to understand the divine nature and its relationship to the human one
I don't know. Not my circus, not my monkey.
Why is there a menorah?
Also, @Mozalbete ⳩ my church has opened up a museum on the Shroud. We’ve got a lot of neat little artifacts and what not and a 1:1 copy of the Shroud. They’re eventually going to build a building to house everything in.
Very nice. What are the artifacts related to?
The history of the Shroud and research done on it
It's not a menorah
Well
Kind of
It's a replica of the menorah taken from the Temple of Jerusalem during the sack in 70 AD.
Menorah is the symbol of the presence of God in scripture
Ah ok
Neat

```Dust
The Message to Ephesus
<1> "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands: <2> "I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance. I know that you cannot tolerate evildoers; you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them to be false. <3> I also know that you are enduring patiently and bearing up for the sake of my name, and that you have not grown weary. <4> But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. <5> Remember then from what you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. ```
The lampstands here refer to menorahs
But represent God's presence in these churches
So like the sanctuary candle by the tabernacle then?
