a lot of the kvetching re:acceasobility of the bible/liturgy makes way more or way less sense if you can already sorta understand whats going on

I agree, thats also biblical, Jesus said that the apostles should teach the peoples in their languages/so that they can understand.

I understand your point of view, my point of view is, that the more people understand the better it is.

Which is why I said I’m ok with vernacular if done right, unfortunately that’s a rare case

However I have seen properly done vernacular mass and it’s indeed full of God’s grace

Thats true. I have seen pretty odd translation of the Bible, especially in the protestant area.
