if a church organization you belong to asks you to pray for all people, particularly minorities and women, and to pray for "white supremacists" to unlearn their beliefs, and asks you to extend an act of kindness or encouraging words to those minorities who might be emotionally distraught following the recent shootings... do you have to do it?
are you allowed to disagree on certain things? i dont know about other denominations, but id assume the catholics in here are called to do the same thing, but it seems like, judging from this group, many dont.
Short answer yes
There are certain subjects where you cannot disagree and still belong to your denomination, but by and large political issues don't factor into that. There's nothing inherently wrong with extending words of kindness to anyone, or praying for any group of people, but in matters of earthly affairs it's rare even a protestant denomination finds unity, much less Catholics or Orthodox.
Why would anyone want a Josephite marriage?
Also @Lyngblomst Photoshop is easy, you just gotta get in there and use it, if you want to do something specific you just google it. There are tutorials for everything you could think of.
@Wrath what's a Josephite marriage?
Marriage where you don't consummate anything ever
Marriage like Joseph.
C h a s t e
So it's like being a priest or a monk or nun, but you're married
Oof
I think it's dumb
Yeah, I mean, idk how I feel about the vow of chastity being obligatory, but if you're gonna make it why in the hell would you needlessly introduce a whole bundle of temptation to screw with you? Like, pick one and commit
It's simple, Nuns are married to Christ.
Priests in the Roman rite don't marry because it's tradition. One that they brought on themselves for being retards back in the day
and Monks are the same as nuns
There are married priests in the Catholic Church
