His envy of Abel's favour came from an inflated sense of himself - why aren't *I* getting the same treatment, I am just as good if not better, etc. One becomes lustful only after his perception of himself becomes inflated, and his ego has been stroked by his peers or the great Satan; women. If one is humble, then they would not pursue pleasures of the flesh as they understand themselves as not needing it. Sex is a drug, and it satiates the ego
