Chinese girls are the reason to live. Chinese girls are the reason that I wake up in the morning and do my best to be a successful and functioning member of society

2018-02-08 11:29:29 UTC

@transience no offense

2018-02-08 11:41:24 UTC

I'm not offended at all tbh

2018-02-08 11:41:39 UTC

I just pretend women don't exist

I prefer to focus on myself for now and sort that out later

2018-02-08 12:06:26 UTC

Problem: chink is unhappy that she can't visit her family for CNY because she has exams. Should I:

a) surprise her with taking her to a Chinese social event nearby that has some weird concerts on CNY night, one of the singer is even Taiwanese

b) invite some of her chink friends who can't go back either, to our home, cook altogether and have a CNY stlye dinner here

2018-02-08 12:06:34 UTC

or another suggestion?

2018-02-08 12:07:00 UTC

give her a red packet

2018-02-08 12:07:09 UTC

yes that, too

2018-02-08 12:07:10 UTC

chink should be happy with money

2018-02-08 12:07:15 UTC

that's all you need

2018-02-08 12:07:27 UTC

I have a few Taiwan dollar left from last holiday and I will give it to her with some of those weird envelopes from the China shop

2018-02-08 12:10:52 UTC

b + red packet

2018-02-08 12:15:12 UTC

do taiwan celebrate chinese new year?

2018-02-08 12:15:29 UTC

who else celebrate chinese new year except chinks

2018-02-08 12:15:50 UTC

Korea

2018-02-08 12:16:59 UTC

if you mean the lunar new year, then I think viets celebrate it too

2018-02-08 12:21:22 UTC

thank you for the input

2018-02-08 12:21:28 UTC

I will invite her friends + red packet

2018-02-08 12:57:45 UTC

So for mainland Chinese New year traditions there aren't many. Pop fireworks, eat a lot of food, give money to kids in red envelopes

2018-02-08 12:58:16 UTC

Invite people over to eat. Watch the new years gala on Chinese tv (there are online live streams)

2018-02-08 12:58:37 UTC

You pretty much spend a whole week never leaving home. Stock up on food before hand

2018-02-08 12:58:55 UTC

Put up a bunch of red shit outside your front door

2018-02-08 12:59:04 UTC

Stuff that says lucky and money etc.

2018-02-08 12:59:26 UTC

Hang some Chinese characters upside down on the walls

2018-02-08 12:59:32 UTC

Boom chinese new year

2018-02-08 13:11:32 UTC

ye but if you put it like that, that's every holiday

2018-02-08 13:12:05 UTC

>christmas: pop fireworks, eat a lot of food, give money to kids

2018-02-08 13:33:55 UTC

@kaetaa you can replace Chinese New Year with Christmas and fine-tune it a little bit and it would work, too

2018-02-08 13:47:13 UTC

It’s pretty funny actually

2018-02-08 13:48:00 UTC

See Christmas is basically a party because it might be the last time you see parents/grandparents before the real cold sets in

2018-02-08 13:48:12 UTC

And it was a historic time for them to die

2018-02-08 13:48:53 UTC

China does it later in the year because they wouldn’t have to feed those people in a feast

2018-02-08 13:52:47 UTC

That got grim pretty fast

2018-02-08 13:55:50 UTC

they rather celebrate that the old people are halfway through the critical time

2018-02-08 14:05:20 UTC

Yeah there's not much cultural stuff with Chinese New year, it's just a standard holiday to see family.
