Fuck that lmao

2018-05-13 12:51:21 UTC

I'm trying to succeed in growing my own lemons for now

2018-05-13 12:51:39 UTC

They're doing well but not even close to getting fruit

2018-05-13 12:55:30 UTC

speaking of agriculture, i am incredibly intrigued by a full composting system

2018-05-13 12:56:08 UTC

as in, the entire human and food waste of a building can be, if aided with some minor engineering, be converted into high-grade compost right on site

2018-05-13 12:57:07 UTC

Yeah, that's a lot better use for feces than making burgers out of it

2018-05-13 12:58:34 UTC

you can't even convince me that you believe that yourself

2018-05-13 13:02:46 UTC

>Yeah, that's a lot better use for feces than making burgers out of it
^

It can but people poop is already converted to agricultural sludge in a central facility and it turns out people are doped to hell and back so it might not be the greatest thing to put into crops and foodwaste is hard to get people to actually put the right things in the right bins.

2018-05-13 13:04:08 UTC

@porco how many poop burger vids you got?

2018-05-13 13:05:35 UTC

doped to hell and back, well well well

2018-05-13 13:05:49 UTC

i know of a painkiller medication that is oddly resistant to human digestion

2018-05-13 13:05:56 UTC

diclophenat or something like that

2018-05-13 13:06:44 UTC

it manages to bypass getting destroyed by your liver somehow and you just straight pee it out again, usually 90% of the dosage that you took comes right out again after numbing you

2018-05-13 13:47:21 UTC

I wonder how I would go about growing my own food in an apartment style room

2018-05-13 13:47:35 UTC

dont grow food indoors

2018-05-13 13:48:02 UTC

Not even with a hydroponic setup?

2018-05-13 13:48:40 UTC

thats how you get mold and your apartment will smell like a basement

2018-05-13 13:49:15 UTC

Hmm yes I see

2018-05-13 13:49:31 UTC

📝

2018-05-13 13:49:49 UTC

do you have a balcony or something?

2018-05-13 13:50:17 UTC

by the way, you can grow *some* things indoors but dont expect it to be food, just spices and the sort

2018-05-13 13:50:43 UTC

I'm planning on moving soon to a 3 bedroom house, I'll be renting two rooms out so I thought I could get away with having the setup in my room so I can keep shit to myself.

2018-05-13 13:52:37 UTC

you can grow scallion at home

2018-05-13 13:52:57 UTC

good for some freshness on your morning egg

2018-05-13 13:53:20 UTC

noice

2018-05-13 13:53:51 UTC

I might have some parsely, corriander, and mint on the window sill or something too

2018-05-13 13:54:03 UTC

I used to do that and fresh mint is gr9 in tea

2018-05-13 13:54:19 UTC

ye we grow mint too

2018-05-13 13:54:23 UTC

but mostly outside

2018-05-13 13:54:46 UTC

grow lots in the summer and either use it fresh or dry it up for autumn

2018-05-13 13:54:55 UTC

this is <#189467888657235970> though

2018-05-13 13:55:25 UTC

Right right

2018-05-13 13:55:29 UTC

I forgot where I was

2018-05-13 16:04:54 UTC

Apparently as long as you roast your own beans you're in the money

2018-05-13 16:05:05 UTC

I e never tried fresh roasted beans but apparently it makes a huge difference

2018-05-13 18:37:54 UTC

Don't drink coffee, but I grind the beans myself so I can keep them longer.
I hear quite often that it's better than bought powder, but that may also just be a compliment for the work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2018-05-13 18:57:15 UTC

They start deteriorating from the moment they are roasted but once they are ground, that happens orders of magnitude more quickly
