Those are the commies I was talking about
I realize that the first amendment exists and applies to everyone and all that, but can we do something to silence the galaxy brains that do shit like calling an AR-15 a 'weapon of war'? I don't think I've ever seen anyone establish so quickly that they don't deserve to be listened to.
Thonk of it as an easy reference to know a person is an idiot
That's true. I wouldn't mind it being a little harder to figure out though.
I'm fairly certain there's almost nothing to be done about it. Comments like that are born purely from ignorance on the mechanics of firearms despite the information being freely available. Or, are made to exploit that ignorance by more malicious actors.
My concept of an RPG is fairly vague, B, but not as vague as others'. A good rule of thumb for me is that, if you can't irreversibly lock yourself into one specialty/build for your character, it's probably not a good RPG
That's not bad.
Bethesda likes to have all characters eventually become the immortal god-emperor with maxxed everything
modern Bethesda, anyway
re: RPGs, I would base it specifically on what the mechanics are meant to represent, which is a character separated from the player's ability to play the game, basically
That's not true at all @C1PHER. How can you max out everything when there are fewer and fewer stats to Max with each entry?
lol 😠lol ðŸ˜
You max out all available stats, which are all now based around killing things
hit the attack button for massive damage
That is sad and funny at the same time
That would be close to my definition as well. An RPG is a game where success or failure has more to do with dice rolls than player skill.
Eww.
I actually really like TES3 and KOTOR for that
Relying on dice roll is boring
I hated thay
Clicking and guaranteeing a hit is predictable
thats fine, but delineation is what makes it an RPG really. Vidya RPGs are an offshoot of D&D
RPGs need to move past dnd roots
Otherwise it's just boring
define "move beyond"
Holy crap. I just realized that by my definition, XCOM is more of an RPG than Dark Souls. I'm actually pretty okay with that.
I could just play Dnd if I wanted to play DnD
you can just play a shooter if you want a shooter
there's no need to "evolve" RPGs into shooters
but shooters are devolving as well
they're in a weird spot right now. I'd argue they had already devolved
but now we're getting some cool shit
Like? I gave up on shooters so have not been following lately
I never said RPGs need to become shooters
a lot of indie titles. Ion Maiden, Dusk, etc
Squad is a good one
sort've not new though
no, I just used shooters as an example because thats the progression for Fallout
from RPG to really simplistic shooter
They gave it more mass appeal. It was a smart move
