It can also hurt Koreans and Vietnamese. Clearly dangerous and must be yeeted

2019-03-17 18:39:24 UTC

Those are the commies I was talking about

2019-03-17 20:26:47 UTC

I realize that the first amendment exists and applies to everyone and all that, but can we do something to silence the galaxy brains that do shit like calling an AR-15 a 'weapon of war'? I don't think I've ever seen anyone establish so quickly that they don't deserve to be listened to.

2019-03-17 20:28:29 UTC

Thonk of it as an easy reference to know a person is an idiot

2019-03-17 20:32:55 UTC

That's true. I wouldn't mind it being a little harder to figure out though.

2019-03-17 21:01:53 UTC

I'm fairly certain there's almost nothing to be done about it. Comments like that are born purely from ignorance on the mechanics of firearms despite the information being freely available. Or, are made to exploit that ignorance by more malicious actors.

2019-03-17 23:02:27 UTC

My concept of an RPG is fairly vague, B, but not as vague as others'. A good rule of thumb for me is that, if you can't irreversibly lock yourself into one specialty/build for your character, it's probably not a good RPG

2019-03-17 23:11:09 UTC

That's not bad.

2019-03-17 23:12:25 UTC

Bethesda likes to have all characters eventually become the immortal god-emperor with maxxed everything

2019-03-17 23:12:41 UTC

modern Bethesda, anyway

2019-03-17 23:13:36 UTC

re: RPGs, I would base it specifically on what the mechanics are meant to represent, which is a character separated from the player's ability to play the game, basically

2019-03-17 23:15:20 UTC

That's not true at all @C1PHER. How can you max out everything when there are fewer and fewer stats to Max with each entry?

2019-03-17 23:16:12 UTC

lol 😭 lol 😭

2019-03-17 23:16:15 UTC

You max out all available stats, which are all now based around killing things

2019-03-17 23:16:34 UTC

hit the attack button for massive damage

2019-03-17 23:16:41 UTC

That is sad and funny at the same time

2019-03-17 23:16:49 UTC

That would be close to my definition as well. An RPG is a game where success or failure has more to do with dice rolls than player skill.

2019-03-17 23:17:22 UTC

Eww.

2019-03-17 23:17:41 UTC

I actually really like TES3 and KOTOR for that

2019-03-17 23:17:57 UTC

Relying on dice roll is boring

2019-03-17 23:18:07 UTC

I hated thay

2019-03-17 23:18:19 UTC

RNG requires blood sacrifices 😉

2019-03-17 23:18:20 UTC

Clicking and guaranteeing a hit is predictable

2019-03-17 23:18:42 UTC

thats fine, but delineation is what makes it an RPG really. Vidya RPGs are an offshoot of D&D

2019-03-17 23:19:03 UTC

RPGs need to move past dnd roots

2019-03-17 23:19:11 UTC

Otherwise it's just boring

2019-03-17 23:19:11 UTC

define "move beyond"

2019-03-17 23:19:12 UTC

Holy crap. I just realized that by my definition, XCOM is more of an RPG than Dark Souls. I'm actually pretty okay with that.

2019-03-17 23:19:27 UTC

I could just play Dnd if I wanted to play DnD

2019-03-17 23:19:37 UTC

you can just play a shooter if you want a shooter

2019-03-17 23:19:43 UTC

there's no need to "evolve" RPGs into shooters

2019-03-17 23:19:49 UTC

but shooters are devolving as well

2019-03-17 23:20:02 UTC

they're in a weird spot right now. I'd argue they had already devolved

2019-03-17 23:20:15 UTC

but now we're getting some cool shit

2019-03-17 23:20:38 UTC

Like? I gave up on shooters so have not been following lately

2019-03-17 23:20:59 UTC

I never said RPGs need to become shooters

2019-03-17 23:21:00 UTC

a lot of indie titles. Ion Maiden, Dusk, etc

2019-03-17 23:21:09 UTC

Squad is a good one

2019-03-17 23:21:15 UTC

sort've not new though

2019-03-17 23:21:21 UTC

no, I just used shooters as an example because thats the progression for Fallout

2019-03-17 23:21:30 UTC

from RPG to really simplistic shooter
