Wow not even one

2019-03-26 23:23:55 UTC

It's the Senate, the meme Democrats are all in the house.

2019-03-26 23:25:08 UTC

But there's still a few that I would think would

2019-03-26 23:26:25 UTC

Did the house actually vote on this already?

2019-03-26 23:52:18 UTC

I doubt they will let it come up for a vote in the house

2019-03-26 23:52:47 UTC

it was only going to get a vote in the senate. that where all the presidential candidate are though

2019-03-26 23:53:29 UTC

so they all claimed to support it, but refused to vote for it.

2019-03-27 00:00:19 UTC

Well, all the presidential candidates except Beta, because his claim to fame is losing a senate race.

2019-03-27 00:01:37 UTC

Yeah. It’s such a dumb policy.

2019-03-27 00:02:04 UTC

It’s especially ignorant that aoc thinks nobody is doing anything too.

2019-03-27 00:02:31 UTC

I follow energy and the environment issues and it’s painfully obvious how ignorant she is

2019-03-27 00:02:56 UTC

I could write an entire paper on how much she doesn’t know.

2019-03-27 00:02:59 UTC

Now that I think about it, why even have a vote in the Senate, except as a 'look at us standing for our principles' gesture?

2019-03-27 00:03:25 UTC

Or did a republican bring it to the floor to force the democrats to own up to it?

2019-03-27 00:04:56 UTC

As far as AOC goes, I'm at the point where I can't even pretend like she's anything other than an even emptier suit than normal.

2019-03-27 00:05:09 UTC

I think the Republicans brought it to force the dems' hands

2019-03-27 00:05:39 UTC

@C1PHER correct

2019-03-27 00:05:48 UTC

Mitch got em

2019-03-27 00:10:23 UTC

The tortoise and the red scare

2019-03-27 00:16:49 UTC

Lol.

2019-03-27 00:17:07 UTC

Slow and coccaine win the race.

2019-03-27 00:29:25 UTC

i think its a good opportunity to discuss these ideas and see where people stand

2019-03-27 00:36:53 UTC

It can be.

2019-03-27 00:37:46 UTC

I’d say the republicans have completely dropped the climate change issue altogether and it’s harder to push back against leftist ideas as a result

2019-03-27 00:40:30 UTC

they can try, instead of showing pictures of regan on a dinosaur

2019-03-27 00:41:29 UTC

That’s true.

2019-03-27 00:41:45 UTC

I think it’s a state’s issue at this point.

2019-03-27 00:41:58 UTC

The states are already addressing it.

2019-03-27 00:42:01 UTC

it would help to have some discussions, they interviewed lomborg in 2013 for example

2019-03-27 00:42:24 UTC

Yeah. I think it would be worth looking at his plan.

2019-03-27 00:42:51 UTC

However it’s already pretty apparent that the energy sector is moving towards renewables

2019-03-27 00:43:22 UTC

Plenty of people in Africa are already using solar lamps just to get light

2019-03-27 00:43:28 UTC

*sees a bunch of commies in the chat*

2019-03-27 00:44:25 UTC

those are market solutions, lomborg has some solid libertarian ideas (and many non-libertarian ideas)

2019-03-27 00:44:55 UTC

like an easy way to reduce the cost associated with flooding and huricanes... get rid of the federal subsidy on insurance

2019-03-27 00:45:08 UTC

^ yup. Agree with that.

2019-03-27 00:46:02 UTC

or increase efficiency in food production... remove subsidies and price ceilings and floors on agriculture

2019-03-27 00:46:09 UTC

basically get our sugar from cane instead of beets

2019-03-27 00:46:15 UTC

There are some fossil fuel subsidies that could be abolished, like LIHEAP. This program incentivizes people to use fossil fuels for residential heating
