raising children properly is more important to the health of both the family and the republic than 90% of jobs right now

you definitely can, but you're swimming upcurrent of the culture, which is very difficult to do

both of my sisters view homemaking with disdain, even though my mom was a homemaker and homeschooled

Because now (and Im speaking as a woman myself who grew up in a very liberal culture) its extremely frowned upon and you are seen as a lazy, unambitious leach

one of my sisters was genuinely offended when I said if I got married I'd want my wife to be a homemaker

again, this from a theologically conservative household where both my parents were present

And there's this immense pressure that you need to be successful in the workfield and make roughly the same as your male partner/spouse

fighting the cultural winds is a hard thing to do

And now I'm seeing the "women can't find men to marry who make as much money as they do" crap circulating again

Im specializing in forensic science for my bachelors

So technically I am a homemaker...but also a full time student

I mean

if it works it works

I quit my job so I could actually see my husband and take care of the things at home while he works

You have to work as a team

I think its more admirable (considering the culture) that he's willing to support me while Im not working
