fr tho
Yeah, it's getting more frequent that I'm reminded how fortunate I am to have a mom and dad who are still married and love me and my brother.
amen
Yeah Im really bothered by this whole promotion that you dont need to be married or in a stable relationship *before* you decide to have kids
the thing is tho, culturally the position we're all espousing is very much in the minority. My sister, with basically the same upbringing, is of the 'oh you think I can't just do my career and all this stuff?'
Obviously marriage isnt a guarantee (my parents were married when they had me) but its proven to significantly increase the likelyhood of kids succeeding later in life
true
Fucking feminism ruining everything
Smdh
They legit ruined homemaking for everyone
which is insane too
raising children properly is more important to the health of both the family and the republic than 90% of jobs right now
Did they actually ruin it or just turn women away from it? I can only assume you can still be a perfectly successful homemaker
@C1PHER they ruined it in the sense that they turned women away from it, by shaming those who wish to be one
you definitely can, but you're swimming upcurrent of the culture, which is very difficult to do
That's kind of what I figured
both of my sisters view homemaking with disdain, even though my mom was a homemaker and homeschooled
Because now (and Im speaking as a woman myself who grew up in a very liberal culture) its extremely frowned upon and you are seen as a lazy, unambitious leach
^ that
Damn
one of my sisters was genuinely offended when I said if I got married I'd want my wife to be a homemaker
again, this from a theologically conservative household where both my parents were present
And there's this immense pressure that you need to be successful in the workfield and make roughly the same as your male partner/spouse
fighting the cultural winds is a hard thing to do
I believe blonde talked about this in several of her videos
And now I'm seeing the "women can't find men to marry who make as much money as they do" crap circulating again
yeah that shit is hilarious
> men are poor, women hit hardest
Me and my husband made roughly the same before he joined law enforcement
Sorry to backtrack a little bit, but assuming you desire to be a homemaker yourself, what are you studying at school?
You're fine.
Im studying criminal justice
lit
I'm minoring in that
Im specializing in forensic science for my bachelors
So technically I am a homemaker...but also a full time student
I mean
if it works it works
I quit my job so I could actually see my husband and take care of the things at home while he works
nice
that is actually quite admirable
You have to work as a team
