Apparently not, I can't find it on mobile at all.

2019-01-22 15:33:15 UTC

hmm, i wonder if they took out the feature

2019-01-22 15:33:31 UTC

maybe you have to pay to do it

2019-01-22 15:34:53 UTC

Discord support says it's in the server settings menu. You may also be correct that only supporters are allowed to set a nickname for themselves.

2019-01-22 15:35:12 UTC

@Jeremy B in general, or just on this server?

2019-01-22 15:35:39 UTC

just this server, i thought there was a way to do it

2019-01-22 15:36:02 UTC

Yeah, it's disabled on this server for me. I just checked on a different server

2019-01-22 15:36:36 UTC

@Jeremy B hit the 3 bars at the top, then the 3 dots next to the name of the sever, then change nickname

2019-01-22 15:37:23 UTC

The "change nickname" option doesn't display for me on this server, but I can see it on my other servers. So I think only patreon/subscribestar backers can do it?

2019-01-22 15:38:08 UTC

Yeah I can't see it

2019-01-22 15:40:18 UTC

Really? That is odd

2019-01-22 15:40:29 UTC

I didn't know that was an opinion

2019-01-22 15:40:39 UTC

I can't see it either as a Patreon

2019-01-22 15:41:24 UTC

Andrea's got hacks, then

2019-01-22 15:41:39 UTC

oh yeah i found it instantly on another server, its just this one that I cant do it

2019-01-22 15:41:58 UTC

That very odd

2019-01-22 15:45:05 UTC

I just changed my name completely then switched nickname for other servers lol

2019-01-22 15:46:23 UTC

I guess that works

2019-01-22 16:16:17 UTC

A mod can do it. There is no mod here.

2019-01-22 16:17:26 UTC

Sorry, how is not lying about reality virtue signaling?

2019-01-22 16:24:11 UTC

Theory: Because if someone's making an earnest effort to "pass" and you're still calling attention to it, you could consider it virtue-signalling that you're the right-wing equivalent of a TERF?

2019-01-22 16:29:25 UTC

I don't go out of my way to call anything out, its not something i would do. That's why my first point was to say, IF someone asked me.

2019-01-22 16:38:02 UTC

Andrea said: This had always been my rule of thumb: if you misgender someone and they correct you nicely, return the favor and be nice back

2019-01-22 16:38:18 UTC

You replied that you disagree

2019-01-22 16:39:03 UTC

So you would only misgender someone if they asked you to use certain pronouns and in all other cases you would use their proper pronouns?

2019-01-22 16:39:26 UTC

I'm not sure how asking is the lench pin of that response

2019-01-22 16:40:45 UTC

I will gender people as I see fit, I have no problem calling Blaire White "She", and Cats, you the same. But this country is built on the idea that we can't compel speech, so the judgement should defer to me, not another person

2019-01-22 16:41:28 UTC

The gendering isn't the problem, it's the compulsion

2019-01-22 16:41:39 UTC

I don't go around calling people by pronouns, if someone asked me to then lie about reality. I'm perfectly fine to decline the offer.

2019-01-22 16:43:41 UTC

@J Edgar and I completely agree. It's about proper polite social behavior.

2019-01-22 16:43:59 UTC

The thing is though, that you never call somebody by their pronoun when you address them, so it really wouldn't come up in eye to eye interactions.

2019-01-22 16:44:55 UTC

Cure the brain and the problem goes away.

2019-01-22 16:45:11 UTC

I'm not normally looking eye to eye with women :)

2019-01-22 16:45:43 UTC

@Shadows You are missing some good positions!

2019-01-22 16:45:49 UTC

It's easy to say "cure the brain" but it's not so easy to do

2019-01-22 16:46:07 UTC

Didn’t say it would be easy.

2019-01-22 16:46:24 UTC

It’s worth trying to figure out how.

2019-01-22 16:46:35 UTC

agreed

2019-01-22 16:46:47 UTC

@Euro looking for a green card Wouldn't better ones be head to waist ratio? :)

2019-01-22 16:47:42 UTC

"curing the brain" would depend on whether it's psychological or physiological, right? Earlier discussion seemed to suggest physiological, which sounds the least curable

2019-01-22 16:47:57 UTC

I hope I'm using those words correctly
