Sorry, how is not lying about reality virtue signaling?
Theory: Because if someone's making an earnest effort to "pass" and you're still calling attention to it, you could consider it virtue-signalling that you're the right-wing equivalent of a TERF?
I don't go out of my way to call anything out, its not something i would do. That's why my first point was to say, IF someone asked me.
Andrea said: This had always been my rule of thumb: if you misgender someone and they correct you nicely, return the favor and be nice back
You replied that you disagree
So you would only misgender someone if they asked you to use certain pronouns and in all other cases you would use their proper pronouns?
I'm not sure how asking is the lench pin of that response
I will gender people as I see fit, I have no problem calling Blaire White "She", and Cats, you the same. But this country is built on the idea that we can't compel speech, so the judgement should defer to me, not another person
The gendering isn't the problem, it's the compulsion
I don't go around calling people by pronouns, if someone asked me to then lie about reality. I'm perfectly fine to decline the offer.
@J Edgar and I completely agree. It's about proper polite social behavior.
The thing is though, that you never call somebody by their pronoun when you address them, so it really wouldn't come up in eye to eye interactions.
Cure the brain and the problem goes away.
I'm not normally looking eye to eye with women :)
@Shadows You are missing some good positions!
It's easy to say "cure the brain" but it's not so easy to do
Didn’t say it would be easy.
It’s worth trying to figure out how.
agreed
@Euro looking for a green card Wouldn't better ones be head to waist ratio? :)
"curing the brain" would depend on whether it's psychological or physiological, right? Earlier discussion seemed to suggest physiological, which sounds the least curable
I hope I'm using those words correctly
@Shadows You can tackle the "issue" from many angles!
I'm calling bullshit @Shadows
Good for you.
Keep getting angry about topics, its always helpful.
You've never had a conversation with two people at once? Here is an example
"Hey Steve, this is my friend John,he live the Saints too! We work together and he wanted to come and watch the game with us!"
You have used pronouns in the precense of the person, oh my
It just seems weird that you claim to never use pronouns
Thanks for telling me how people talk.
Also very helpful.
@Deleted User i find group convos annoying
@C1PHER I guess that was for me!? I never claimed to never use pronouns
No, that was for shadow
`I don't go around calling people by pronouns`
That just sounds.... difficult. You'd almost have to consciously avoid using pronouns
Saints were robbed btw
@Jeremy B that game should be replayed
absolutely
