But it's a bit of a roulette if you get it from some below-standard supplier.

Since i think laptops are trash, yes.

Refurb/preowned for GPU could save some cash. I don't know that I would do CPU or PSU

Desktop parts outside of GPU are honestly pretty cheap but it largely depends on your usage requirements

980 Nvidia generation is still good for 95%+ of all games coming out.

Plus if you play better games (IE almost all older ones) you can get a shithouse GPU for like 50 bucks and still be well above spec

Slow progress. Working on transferring training mode inputs to online matches with friends. Mostly about linking and figuring out combos now. Still a long ways off but it feels like good progress at least
