"Let's spend time listening to experts about the largest parts of our budget." What is your counterargument to that?
Lol.
America is not a technocrancy
Bingo! It is an idiocracy... At least it feels like it at times.
We listen to the people who are most entertaining, not most knowledgeable.
We do, that doesnt mean are representatives do
We outsource our democratic process because the ROI on a full democracy is not good
Wouldn't it be nice if a single newspaper in this country reviewed a book on healthcare policy by Trump's nominee to head healthcare policy? I would then be able to point you to that review instead of having to try to explain it to you.
But, we'll listen to a bunch of idiots "debating" "healthcare" "policy" on TV...
Or i could read the book instead of a review if i felt the information was worthwhile
You don't feel it is worthwhile why?
You never heard of it
?
Because healthcare is not a role assigned to the federal government
Well, I am sure that will fix it.
And my representatives have not given them that duty
Let me know how that works out for you when Kamala Harris bans all private health insurance.
She can't, because she would need support from both houses of Congress and the supreme court to do it
If you say so.
Its just ideal promises, like the warren wealth tax which is also unconstitutional
You sound like gun control people talking about how great it will be when we ban guns and suddenly will live in a world without guns. Because unconstitutional things never happen.
how does that even follow?
we sound like gun control ppl? bro you must be new to this server
It did, but only because dems controlled the house, senate, and the supreme court
"We"
what?
So @argyris are you advocating that we remove the tax deduction for health insurance premiums?
I am advocating that we pay attention to the book written by Stephen Parente, first and foremost because the fact nobody talked about his ideas is suspicious.
round and round we go.
"we" again. You said you were not convinced. I thought you bowed out of this conversation.
Maybe the book wasn't that good?
Did you read it?
"You sound like gun control people talking about how great it will be when we ban guns and suddenly will live in a world without guns"
that would be the "we". what dont you understand?
im still not convinced, correct.
but i can choose to speak any damn time i want.
Why don't you tell me *why* you think I should read it, without resorting to your theory that it is being suppressed.
oh now we're into the "because nobody has taken the time to refute it, it's correct" leg of the conversation
you throw out red herrings like its a fucking fishmarket here bro.
If you give me a compelling reason to do so, I might even read it. I have been known to read a book occasionally.
I didn't say you should read it. I said I think people should listen to that two hour presentation. I watched it and I think he talks about important things that people should discuss.
