Its not like I have like a bullet list of problems with their stances, i DEFINITELY have a few specific issues, but most of it is what they choose to ignore and what they choose to emphasize seemingly being crafted around following the course of progressivism and in a sense, liberalism, in the culture, to craft a religion around whats convenient socially

It isn't a unified institution at all

A lot of the Catholic church's legitimacy comes from it's size and appearance of fidelity to original scripture. Acknowledging internal division undermines that.

Ya, and the biggest part for me is that the Christian Church since its founding has been arguing over texts since its inception

Some of the first factions within the church were the Nestorians, Chalcedonian and Arians

Arians were close to universally decried by the early church

the arians were eventually brought back into the church

and many of the gothic tribes that invaded rome were in themselves arian Christians

I was referring to personal relationship people have to their faith, at the end of the day it comes down to a personal relationship with God and Jesus. And certain doctrine will be more effective and relevant to one person than another

Yes it's about our relationship with Christ, but that relies on us listening to *his* word, not him listening to ours

I would make that same argument for the Catholic church, if the latin modernist become more popular your church will become part of the progressive Christian movement
