Why not? Is it not true that all humans are fallible?

2019-12-21 18:46:07 UTC

"There is a difference between treatment for an illness and completely changing your body to reject a social role" what if I'm changing my body to treat gender dysphoria @Danacrag

2019-12-21 18:52:36 UTC

That is terminal gender dysphoria imo @chaizu

2019-12-21 18:53:26 UTC

Eh?

2019-12-21 18:53:51 UTC

Do you uh

2019-12-21 18:53:57 UTC

Do you know what terminal means

2019-12-21 18:56:19 UTC

I'm happy for you rejecting your social role as prescribed by god

2019-12-21 18:56:47 UTC

I do. And the high suicide rate of transgenders is example for that

2019-12-21 18:57:00 UTC

Pretransition transgendered people*

2019-12-21 18:57:56 UTC

Pretty much all of the data shows that trans peoples lives have a strong tendency to improve following transition.

2019-12-21 18:58:01 UTC

The failure to help people with proper treatment because of lies about transitioning isnt helpful anyone

2019-12-21 18:58:13 UTC

What are the lies about transitioning

Tbh I cant be bothered to argue about stats on this. Everyone has stats that they like. I cant really buy into studies done on some place that has an LGBT equality section. Seems like they will choose whatever studies they like. @chaizu

2019-12-21 19:22:21 UTC

Are their studies to the contrary though? It's not like they cherry picked one or two studies, this was a meta-analysis of 55 studies

2019-12-21 19:22:36 UTC

@Castore don't try to lie and say you haven't done it

2019-12-21 19:22:49 UTC

i havent and im not lying

2019-12-21 19:23:29 UTC

@LustrousMandrill did you try to do it ?

2019-12-21 19:24:44 UTC

Everyone with a dick has tried it at some point

2019-12-21 19:24:55 UTC

That's my position on the matter

2019-12-21 19:45:18 UTC

@Danacrag why don't you bring in in the idiots you listen to on the topic in here

2019-12-21 19:45:23 UTC

@Danacrag "im going to ignore this metaanalysis because my prior unfounded belief disagrees with it"

2019-12-21 19:47:54 UTC

@Deleted User you groomed me. No one else did

2019-12-21 19:50:04 UTC

You were literally debating if you were a trans woman or not like 8 months ago

2019-12-21 19:50:43 UTC

Or if you should transition. And your conclusion was no even though you want to, because it is against catholicism

2019-12-21 19:52:45 UTC

@chaizu @Deleted User it's not a meta-analsysis

2019-12-21 19:52:51 UTC

@Danacrag but this is

2019-12-21 19:53:05 UTC

Ok fine systemic literature review

2019-12-21 19:57:34 UTC

👀

2019-12-21 19:57:46 UTC

I think you forgot to post it

2019-12-21 20:00:21 UTC

@Danacrag in meta-analysis, sexual reassignment surgery (SRS) improves a large number of quality of life indicators (gender dysphoria, depression, suicidal ideation, quality of life, sexual) for 4 of 5 patients, including in 15-year-long followup studies: <https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1365-2265.2009.03625.x> <http://sci-hub.tw/10.1111/j.1365-2265.2009.03625.x> Pooling across studies shows that after sex reassignment, 80% of individuals with GID reported significant improvement in gender dysphoria (95% CI = 68–89%; 8 studies; I2 = 82%); 78% reported significant improvement in psychological symptoms (95% CI = 56–94%; 7 studies; I2 = 86%); 80% reported significant improvement in quality of life (95% CI = 72–88%; 16 studies; I2 = 78%); and 72% reported significant improvement in sexual function (95% CI = 60–81%; 15 studies; I2 = 78%).

2019-12-21 20:00:35 UTC

@chaizu shut up whore I was busy collecting polls about impeachment, like a chad

2019-12-21 20:00:53 UTC

Wow sexist

2019-12-21 20:01:51 UTC

@actual_communist_boi any stats on drug usage or suicide. I'd find them much more interesting that reported happiness

2019-12-21 20:02:54 UTC

That study says it improves depression and suicidal ideation

2019-12-21 20:03:43 UTC

So unless you think that suicide will stay the same even though thoughts of suicide decrease then idk why youd need a separate study for that as if my review wasn't enough

@Danacrag very few medical studies actually examine suicide, because it's rare so you need a very long timeframe and large sample size to measure it accurately
