I don't mind a social net organized for those who are in dire straits, but it shouldn't ever be considered a right. The debt comes first. No child should be forced to carry the burden of their parents, let alone the parents of others, into perpetuity. That's fundamentally immoral and wrong of us.

I support a welfare state at the fundamental level, but not to the extent we have in the US, nor alongside systems we have in place that cause problems in combination. The majority of our mandatory spending is on social security, a system that will not exist when I am old enough to take advantage of it.
That's *literally* stealing. I get nothing out of it.
