Look my lecturer described it as a post-American world. The US no longer controls the world in an geopolitical sense.

ISIS is a narrative that is arguably irrelevant. And anyway the USA can only do as much as other nations let them - 10 years ago they marched into Iraq, Could they do that today? No.
