It's been FAA policy for some time to add aluminum to jet fuel in order for it to be released behind planes and "combat climate change".
It's so bad, that Monsanto is having to develop aluminum resistant strains of crops.
@Tero Plane had engine failure and protocol to land, they had just taken off, and dump fuel before hand. But it's supposed to be dumped higher up above depopulated areas. They were over LA.

I don't think the schools were extremely close, just all lined up nearly perfectly for a plane dumping tons of jet fuel to hit on approach.
