I dislike this notion that somehow communism is all for sharingand being nice to people and ethics and the right is all about not sharing and not caring about other people etc
Its false
Its studid
And its dangerous
Communism isn’t about dandy sharing and nice flowers, I agree
Communism sucks
oh
In many countries capitalism has been an enabler for social wellfare systems
Im listening to this podcast and this woman defines leftism as being against homophobia and other social issues that nearly everybody agrees on
Yung is such a hot tankie
Hahahah
I see a lot of gay nazis
That was random tbh ^
Hahahah

I disagree, if you look at examples of social welfare being implemented into Capitalist systems you will see a clear trend. They are concessions. Just like labor rights, welfare isn’t even a part of Capitalism, it is an add on feature granted to working classes. In the case of Scandinavia for instance, it was clearly a concession due to the presence of the USSR. Ever since the Soviet Union collapsed, those countries have been heading towards privatization again. Social Democracy is basically not a thing anymore, and if it is present it’s not like it was during “the good days”
Well I am not saying its not a concession ofcourse
But man if you live in uk/germany/netherlands/scandinavia
You will not starve
You will not be unable to get medical attention when you need to
Poverty is nearly non existent
When people in the netherlands refer to national poverty the speak about not being able to buy new clothes every month
Or a new tv
That is not poverty
Let me ask a very fair question
In the situation of complete communism
Where does the capital for social wellfare structures comes from
Communism has to be post-scarcity, meaning that you would have eliminated problems on distribution and production of goods. It’s a gift economy. You wouldn’t even have capital
@supermodel ruben btw where I live in The Hague, although I know less than you when it comes to NL, it’s a pretty shitty neighborhood, with very clear cut poverty. Not a fun place to go around at night at all. And it’s pretty clear to me that the Hague is a relatively rich city
Sex
I do not think the word poverty should be used when theres free healthcare, free tuition, government funding for people w/e a solid income, government funding for people with kids, government funding for housing, social housing, etc
But thats semantics
I think poverty is an apt word for people who really struggle to get by, feed their family, are homeless ecc.
Well the number of homeless people in the netherlands is almost neglectable
But then there’s some who are in poverty because they didn’t make the right choices in life, or are simply living off welfare because it’s easier than just getting a job.
As in it is terrible it exists but so small
Not all people in poverty are victims of the system.
Well studies atleast show that many people in relative poverty in these countries dont know how to spend their money efficiently
the state does not give them enough money
For instance in you have to get by on 900ish, which is the minimum the dutch government considers legitimate, and you smoke away 200 thats your own fault
The poor don't know how to manage money hmm 🤔 🤔 🤔
The state shouldn’t have to give them so much money, really.
