in fact mostly people do today
doesnt*
most philosophy until the 16th century was still based on aristotelian concepts
i'd say he was pretty damn smart
for his time he was
smart people can come to wrong conclusions
where did i say that
yeah to "ancient greeks" in general, not aristotle in particular
i mean slaves didnt had any acess to information whatsoever
i did not know he believed that, but i do not think he was an idiot
so understandable
we are talking now about greece
back then there was no such thing as empirical science and knowledge was a luxury good
but serfs didnt had education too
except for the clergy
access to education != being smarter than someone
uhhhhh nope
in agriculture too
feudalism developed agriculture to levels unknown until the feudal era
the bronze age actually had a big boom in agriculture, and i don't think that was feudalism already
sorry
im brazillian
what i mean is that they developed agriculture a lot
very slowly, but yeah, and apparently a lot more sustainable than the bronze age system
which eventually led to more accumulation of wealth and creating the merchant class, making cities important trading and financial centers and giving rise to capitalism
feudalism is the same as the feudal era i'd say, that's what i meant
@Geamr man animal traction came strong as hell in feudalism
like never before
in a relatively short time
i don't know enough about the development of agriculture tech in that period, but i meant slow through todays lens
but yeah technological advances were accelerating in earnest around then and really jumped in the enlightenment era after
so @PugSlugger still interested in when there was a capitalist society pre enlightenment, you haven't shown one so far
well by todays lens almost everything was terribly slow
Epic gang weed moment when the rightist defends an empire which practised sodomy and faggotry
what the fuck
>calling rome capitalist when carthage was closer
WEW
using today measures dont mean they were capitalist
doesnt*
Read Marx
I don't think you understand the capitalist mode of production
