Australia is pretty fucked - we have had 10+ years of gridlock on climate policy, in large part thanks to the intransigence of the watermelons. As a result we have had almost no large scale investment in energy, hence the fucked electricity market.
Imagine being Australia, one of the largest producers of reactor-grade uranium, and having a problem with energy.
